Mission

Texas Native Cats provides education, outreach, and advocacy for our five species of wild native cats, past and present.

Purpose

Our purpose is to expand education about the native cats of Texas, increase outreach throughout the state and, ultimately, to improve the lives of these very important but often misunderstood Texas felines. Many people are unaware of the great diversity of our felines, their habitat, physical characteristics, threats currently facing them, and the importance they play in maintaining Nature’s health and diversity. In a state that has seen explosive human population growth, Texas Native Cats presents the cats’ struggle to cope with human influence and gives a voice to these amazing wild cats.
