The Responsible Purchasing Network (RPN) promotes and practices responsible purchasing by identifying best practices, developing effective purchasing tools, educating the market, and using our collective purchasing power to maximize environmental stewardship, protect human health, and support local and global sustainability.

RPN is dedicated to advancing sustainable procurement policies and practices among government agencies, educational and health care institutions, nonprofit organizations, and businesses. RPN helps its members and strategic partners to meet their environmental, social, and economic sustainability goals by purchasing goods and services that result in resource conservation, toxics reduction, climate protection, and green job creation. It also uses “the power of the purse” to promote supply chain changes by rewarding manufacturers, distributors and service providers that offer products and services that are certified to be relatively low-toxicity or energy-efficient or that have other verifiable and measurable environmental and health benefits.
