Mission

The Release Aging People in Prison Campaign (RAPP) works to end mass incarceration and promote racial justice through the release of older and aging people from prison.

Purpose

RAPP organizes people, families, and communities across New York State to promote the release of people from prison who are older, aging, and serving long and life sentences. We work to reform and expand existing release mechanisms in New York State as a means of releasing more people from prison, reuniting families, and promoting community health and safety. We train and empower people impacted by mass incarceration to become community leaders and advocate on behalf of themselves and their loved ones. We work to end the crisis of aging behind bars, and to uproot systems that permanently punish people and their families.
