Mission

The mission is to support and defend Community Choice energy programs in California that advance local clean energy for the economic and environmental benefit of our communities. A Community Choice energy program is a public, not-for-profit agency that provides electricity and related services to residents of its jurisdiction. The Community Choice movement is growing rapidly with new programs coming online across the state.

Purpose

Community Choice energy programs have the potential to bring significant economic benefits to communities while simultaneously curbing greenhouse gas emissions. The Alliance defends against monopoly utility attacks and advocates for Community Choice programs that prioritize electricity demand reduction and the rapid development of local renewable generating resources.
