Memories for Surviving Kids

Mission

Encourage friends and family of deceased parents to write letters for the children.

Purpose

There are 60,000 American children each year that lose a parent. Most are left with a few memories to reflect and learn about their lost loved ones, and in the meantime family and friends will attend funerals and say “I wish there was something I could do for the children." Providing letters for the children will help fill that void. Memories for Surviving Kids enlists the help of grief counselors and child psychologist to establish guidelines that will help encourage writing letters, as well as help guide parents in knowing when the family is ready to share those memories.
